Description

I. Basic Product Information

This side camera cover is exclusively compatible with Tesla Model 3 (all years. including Highland) and Model Y (all years. including Juniper) . designed to fit the vehicle's exterior side mirror cameras (used for Autopilot. lane-keeping. and parking assist). It addresses two core needs of Model 3/Y owners: protecting the vulnerable side cameras from scratches. debris. or minor impacts. and upgrading the exterior with a premium. sporty carbon fiber aesthetic—all without interfering with camera functionality.

Crafted for durability and style. the cover uses 100% real carbon fiber (not a printed imitation) with a high-gloss clear coat finish. This material delivers the iconic woven texture of carbon fiber while offering exceptional scratch resistance and rigidity—stronger than plastic or vinyl overlays. The cover comes in a 2-piece set (one for the left-side camera. one for the right-side camera) and features a precise cutout for the camera lens. ensuring no obstruction to image capture.

II. Core Product Advantages

1. Model 3/Y-Specific Precise Fit: No Camera Interference

Unlike generic camera covers that misalign or block the lens. this set is engineered using 1:1 3D scanning data of Model 3/Y's side mirror cameras:

Lens-Cutout Accuracy : Each cover has a laser-cut opening that perfectly matches the camera lens size and position. leaving the lens fully exposed—no distortion or blockage of the camera's field of view (critical for Autopilot and safety features).
Contour Matching : Follows the exact curve and shape of the side mirror's camera housing. fitting snugly without overhanging edges or gaps. This avoids wind noise (common with ill-fitting covers) and prevents debris from getting trapped between the cover and camera.
Universal Model Compatibility : Works for all Model 3/Y variants (including Highland and Juniper) because Tesla's side camera housing dimensions have remained consistent across generations—no fit issues from year or trim level.

2. Real Carbon Fiber: Protection + Premium Aesthetic

The use of real carbon fiber sets this cover apart from cheap alternatives. delivering dual benefits:

Durable Protection

Scratch & Impact Resistance : Carbon fiber's high tensile strength shields the camera housing from scratches (e.g.. from road gravel. tree branches) and minor impacts (e.g.. accidental bumps during parking)—prevents damage to the camera's plastic housing (which is costly to replace).
UV & Weather Resistance : The high-gloss clear coat blocks UV rays. preventing the carbon fiber from fading or yellowing. It also repels rain. road salt. and dust—no corrosion or degradation in harsh weather.

Sporty Style Upgrade

Iconic Woven Texture : The 3D carbon fiber pattern adds a high-performance look to the side mirrors. elevating the vehicle's exterior beyond the stock plastic housing. It pairs especially well with other carbon fiber accessories (e.g.. air blade trims. door handle covers) for a cohesive aesthetic.
Subtle Branding : The carbon fiber finish aligns with Tesla's minimalist design language—eye-catching but not overly flashy. avoiding the aftermarket clutter look of bright-colored covers.

3. 3M VHB Adhesive: Tool-Free & Non-Destructive Installation

Installation takes 5–10 minutes with no technical skills. thanks to the industry-grade 3M tape:

Clean the Camera Housing : Wipe the side mirror's camera housing with the included alcohol pad to remove dust. oil. or wax—ensures maximum adhesion.
Align the Cover : Peel the protective film from the 3M tape. then position the cover over the camera housing (use the lens cutout as a guide to align correctly).
Press to Secure : Apply firm. even pressure across the cover for 30 seconds to activate the adhesive. The 3M VHB tape bonds tightly but leaves no residue if removed (e.g.. for replacement). so it won't damage the original camera housing.

4. No Impact on Vehicle Safety Features

A critical concern with camera accessories is disrupting safety systems—this cover avoids all issues:

Autopilot Compatibility : The unobstructed lens ensures the camera maintains full functionality for Autopilot. Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. and Lane Departure Warning. No error codes or system malfunctions after installation.
No Wind Noise : The snug fit and smooth edges eliminate wind turbulence around the cover. preserving Tesla's quiet cabin experience (unlike loose covers that rattle at highway speeds).

III. Key Notes (Critical Compatibility & Care)

Model Exclusivity : Only fits Tesla Model 3 (all years) and Model Y (all years) . It will not fit Model S/X (different side mirror camera designs) or non-Tesla vehicles—confirm your vehicle model before purchasing.
Installation Tip : Avoid installing in temperatures below 15°C. If working in cold weather. warm the camera housing with a hair dryer (low heat) for 10 seconds to improve 3M tape adhesion.
Cleaning Care : Wipe the cover with a soft microfiber cloth to remove dust or smudges. For tough stains. use a slightly damp cloth—avoid harsh cleaners (e.g.. ammonia-based glass cleaners) or abrasive tools. as they can scratch the clear coat.
